Hindustani flute duet today

MYSORE: A unique Hindustani flute duet featuring Ravishankar Mishra of Mysore and Carl Clements (USA) will be held at Namana Kala Mantapa in Krishnamurthypuram on Sunday.
The programme to be organised by Raag Milan will commence at 5.30 p.m. A press release issued here on Saturday said Carl Clements, a jazz saxophone and bamboo flute player who is living in New York, is an active performer in the jazz and world music scenes. He is working towards a Ph.D. in ethnomusicology at the CUNY Graduate Centre.
Ravishankar Mishra of Mysore started flute training under his father Dinesh Chandra Mishra and has been performing in various prestigious music platforms.
He has to his credit six audio CDs. He has been imparting the art of flute playing for over a decade and students from all over the world receive training from him.
Carl Clements and Ravishankar Mishra are disciples of flute maestro Nityanand Haldipur of the lineage of Pannalal Ghosh.
Gurumurthy Vaidya of Bangalore will accompany them on tabla.
