I acknowledge with great pleasure and pride that Shri Ravi Shankar Mishra is a budding flutist of the present younger generation. He is not only a flutist of great calibre but also a good human being. What I appreciate most about him is that, he has not been swayed away by the modern popular scene of the music but has kept rooted to the most valuable tradition of our music and Gharana. Ravi Shankar Mishra is a very good flute maker; and that is his passion. With his innovative mind, he has done some structural changes, and is making good flutes. He is open to the suggestions. His new design is very convenient to handle and greatly facilitates the All Saptak Vistar of the ragas.
He is a good and remarkable teacher too and really enjoys teaching. He has groomed many a students who perform at professional level.
With his dedication and quest for acquiring what is pure in music, I am sure he will make it big on the music horizon.
I wish him a great success.

I have been studying Bansuri in Mysore with Ravi Shankar Mishra since 2002. I go to Mysore every year to take yoga classes with K. Pattabhi Jois and my flute lessons with Ravi are an important part of my trip. Every year I invite friends to go to my flute lessons with me so that they can enjoy the experience of traditional Bansuri instruction, and many of my friends have also started playing flute and taking lessons. Taking lessons with Ravi is an important part of the "Mysore Experience". I've learned so much from Ravi, not just about flute, but about Indian life and philosophy. With Ravi, you are more than just a student - you become a family member. Playing the flute has added so much to my understanding of Indian music and culture. I highly recommend flute lessons with Ravi.
I'm really enjoying my flutes! Thank you!
Much love!

Om namo narayan!
Ravi is a lovely human being, humble and full of compassion — a Krsna bhakta. His devotion is manifested in his art of playing and making his flutes. I know him a long time and he is my teacher and dear friend. I have been to many music concerts in my stay and time in india but not often i've met a musician like Ravi, who becomes the music and in a way melts with his play into a... blissful union.. Of musician and music. If you love traditional Indian music and bansuri, he is a player you definitely should listen to.. Sure you will love it!
