Ravi Shankar Mishra

'Sur Mani Ravi Shankar Mishra' is one of the finest flautists of the young generation.He was born in 1970[Kolkata]. He grew up in a perfect musical ambiance at home.He started his music lessons with his father Pandit Dinesh Chandra Mishra.In 1994 he was fortunate to be accepted as a deciple by flute maestro Pandit Nityanand Haldipur[Mumbai] who belongs to the lineage of legendary flautist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh.

He has also been fortunate to recive guidence from Padmabushan late Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan whom he revers as his mentor and guide.Ravi's music is 'purest' in every sense and he is applauded for his astetic approch by connoisseurs as well as the younger generation.His rendation has spiriual approch and is meditative.Ravi has performed extensivly in India and abroad.He has been fortunate to perform at the UNESO[Paris] for a audience exceeding 10,000.He has played at the Halim accedemy of Sitar[Mumbai],Haridas Sammelan and Sangeeth Pratistan.He is a regular performer for yoga students across the globe.Ravi has collabrated with many jazz musicians from U.S.A and with leeding musicians of our country.Till date he has recorded 10 albums which have been recived very well across all sections.Apart from being a versatile flatist he is a very sincere and dedicated Guru.He has been imparting his knowledge for more than 2 decades in and around the globe,passing on the rich legacy of Indian Classical Music to his enthusiastic students.He has been awarded with the title 'SUR MANI' by Sur Shringar Samsad[Mumbai] for all his dedication, talent and for his wonderful musical journey till now.
